Making the Most of Your Team’s Time…

It’s extremely difficult to manage a project.  Whether it’s a video project, a sermon series, an outreach project or even a mission trip.  In my everyday, I use Basecamp.  It’s software-as-a-service, cloud-based project management.  Free from the perils of complication and processes, it allows you to lay out milestones, ideas, discussions, to-do’s and multiple projects that you can assign to various individuals.  Keep track of deadlines and cast a vision for your project by uploading files and documents, links to inspirations and more.

You have the ability to run a project through to completion by systematically crossing items off your list.  Make comments on action steps, plan and adjust on the fly.  What’s more, it’s in the cloud, so everyone can join in from anywhere, which is great for volunteers and staff, as well.  You can create project templates that are helpful when you work on multiple projects of similar types.  You can even customize the interface with your church’s logo or colors.

Basecamp is a subscription-based service that starts at around 20 bucks a month.  Larger organizations may need one of the more premium tiers of service depending on extent of use.  Created by 37signals in Chicago, Basecamp is a part of a suite of products used by businesses and organizations to organize time, projects, contacts and more.

So, check out Basecamp today for your project management needs!
